Tuesday March 14th CEO Lars Udby and project manager Steen B. Petersen paid a visit to the Belgian bus manufacturer Van Hool.

For more than 65 years Van Hool has manufactured busses for public transport, but in recent years Van Hool has also focused on developing and implementing hydrogen busses.

This focus has amongst other things resulted in multiple hydrogen-bus projects in Europe with Van Hool as coordinator. Amongst these are the project called “High V-LO-City”. The aim of this project is to advance the integration of a new generation of hydrogen-busses. More specifically, 14 hydrogen-busses will in the near future be driving around in three cities in Scotland, Italy and Belgium respectively.

The hydrogen-busses are considered the most promising technology to substitute the diesel busses in the coming years, as the hydrogen technology will contribute significantly to reduce transport emissions.

The aim of the visit to Van Hool was to initiate a process which hopefully can result in the implementation of hydrogen-busses in Northern Jutland.
