Oslo airport enhances its position as one of the world’s greenest airports by opening a hydrogen filling station.
The airport purchased its first hydrogen vehicle in 2014, which is used for the daily patrols around the airport area, and the goal is to phase out the airports usage of fossil fuel vehicles.
Norway is already frontrunners when it comes to implementing fossil free vehicles. A number of initiatives are launched in order to advance the sale of electrical- and hydrogen cars such as free parking in downtown areas, no fees and permission to drive in the mass transit lane in most places.
The filling station can be used by the airport’s own vehicles as well as visitors who may fill up their hydrogen cars while visiting the airport.
