IKEA has just inaugurated its third wind farm in Sweden.

The 30 new wind turbines are placed in Glötesvålen in Sweden, and will be producing an estimated 220 GWh of renewable energy each year, which corresponds to the annual supply of electricity for approximately 44, 000 households.

The erection of the wind turbines are a part of the company’s ambitious strategy of corporate responsibility that also encompasses the use of solar panels and heat produced from biomass in Sweden.

Hence, IKEA will produce as much energy from renewable sources as it uses in all its stores, factories and offices in the Nordic countries.
