Hydrogen and biogas will continue to be the main focal points at CEMTEC/Hydrogen Valley, but from May 1st, 2018, the CEO will be Søren Bjerregaard Pedersen.

Søren is replacing the current CEO Lars Udby, who is still going to be part of the organisation. Moving forwards, Lars will be focusing more on project development.

Søren Bjerregaard Pedersen has occupied the position as Head of Development at the North Denmark EU Office, where he has been leading the strategical development of the organisation’s depositions for businesses and public institutions.

As CEO of CEMTEC/Hydrogen Valley, Søren Bjerregaard Pedersen will continue the development of the centre’s position as both a national and international participant and partner in the field of establishing projects within the green transition of the energy sector. Lars Udby, who has been the CEO of CEMTEC/Hydrogen Valley since 2009, will continue working for the organisation and focus on initiating new projects within the field of electro fuels, amongst other things.

Hydrogen Valley, located in Hobro, has throughout the years positioned itself as a central actor in the development and implementation of energy projects with focus on green gasses and fuel cells. Lately, Hydrogen Valley has attracted attention due to the establishment of one of Europe’s biggest and most advanced plants within the production of hydrogen, based on electrolysis, which is powered partly by electricity from wind turbines. The French multinational gas supplier Air Liquide is the main investor of the HyBalance plant, which is under construction in the vicinity of Hobro. The HyBalance project has received funding from the European Union’s FCH-JU program and the Danish ForskEl program.

  • Søren Bjerregaard Pedersen is going to lead Hydrogen Valley towards new objectives within the green transition of the energy sector. Throughout the years, Hydrogen Valley has positioned itself as a key participant and partner within the energy cluster House of Energy, which focuses on the integration of energy systems. Hydrogen is a key factor in the integration of the energy systems and the new CEO will be strengthening the work on the above-mentioned technologies. This will benefit business development as well as the Danish expertise within this field, states Peter Christensen, chairman of the CEMTEC board.
